DR. BOB SCHENTER
NEVER GIVE UP.
Dr. Bob Schenter dedicated his life to one mission:
Curing cancer through medical isotopes.
A Caltech graduate in Physics, he believed decades ahead of his time that targeted radiation — “Smart Bullets” — could revolutionize medicine by destroying cancer cells while sparing healthy tissue.
And he refused to accept that nothing could be done.
As Executive Director of the National Association of Cancer Patients, Dr. Schenter became one of the most passionate advocates in America for medical isotopes, targeted therapies, and patient access. When isotope shortages threatened treatments, he fought tirelessly — even testifying before Congress to protect the future of nuclear medicine.
He believed many treatments could be performed on an outpatient basis, giving patients hope without destroying their quality of life.
Dr. Schenter championed the use of isotopes for:
Cancer Treatment
Bone Pain Relief
Arthritis Therapies
HIV/AIDS Research
Precision Targeted Radiation
But his greatest fascination was with Alpha Emitters — especially Actinium-225 (Ac-225).
He spent countless hours studying isotope cross sections, production yields, nuclear reactors, and accelerator technologies, convinced that alpha emitters represented the future of cancer treatment.
Long before others saw the potential, Dr. Schenter believed companies like Nusano could one day produce nearly every important medical isotope needed to fight disease.
He proudly wore shirts that read:
“ISOTOPES — THE ANSWER FOR CANCER.”
His mission reached far beyond laboratories.
He spoke with world leaders, introduced himself to the President of Indonesia to discuss Smart Bullets, worked with Jesse Jackson to raise awareness about medical isotopes, and hosted his own radio program:
ANSWERS FOR CANCER
A platform where he educated, inspired, and challenged the world to think differently about cancer treatment.
One of Dr. Schenter’s greatest inspirations was Nobel Prize-winning scientist Glenn Seaborg, whom he deeply admired and eventually met — a moment he treasured for the rest of his life.
Above his desk sat a photo of Albert Einstein watching over him daily — a reminder to never stop questioning, discovering, and pushing forward.
Dr. Bob Schenter was more than an advocate.
More than a scientist.
More than a visionary.
He was relentless.
Because for him, this was never about business.
It was about saving lives.
NEVER GIVE UP.
ISOTOPES ARE THE ANSWER FOR CANCER.
